" Learning from those who dressed before us...Oh hey, Some people raise money by participating in a walk, run, dance marathon, or selling candy bars. It just so happens that I'm much better at picking out outfits than I am at, well, anything athletic. So I'm leveraging my overflowing closet to raise some money for Connections for Abused Women and their Children. The money will help CAWC in their very important mission to eradicate domestic violence. I originally set out to raise $5,000 for CAWC but with your overwhelming response and support, I hit that target 9 days into the project. So now we're going to double it. I'm also working with a number of local Chicago stores and designers to encourage followers of Chicago Uniform Project to explore their local style ecosystem. Similar to how you might choose to buy produce from your neighborhood farmers' market, you always have the option to buy clothing from independent small-business owners. Eat local and dress local, too. Running my own marathon, Sarah |
